Fixed: Exp, critical hit and backstab texts are now also English.
Added: Initial loading screen (right after developer logos) has been translated.
Added: Intro cutscene has been subtitled and the logo has been replaced with an English one.
Added: A nocd crack is now part of the package as loading the replaced video files would not work otherwise.

Thank you for your efforts! Is it possible that "usual speeches" such as those of victory, out of stamina, arm getting broken, ..., etc be translated and displayed, too?

For example, in Curse of the Lost Soul,
  • When Zak defeats an enemy, he sometimes says: "Let that be a permanent lesson for you." and sometimes says: "A clean hit!"
  • When Zak runs and used up his Stamina, he sometimes says: "My legs are not made of iron!"
  • When you select Zak, he sometimes says: "Yes?"
  • When you command Zak to go to a spot, he sometimes says: "On my way!" and sometimes says: "Yes!"
  • When you command Zak to cast the Heal spell, he sometimes says: "I love magic!"
  • When you command Zak to cast a spell and he isn't having enough Stamina, he sometimes says: "We will have to forget about magic for now."
  • When picking up a loot in Gipath, the male companion sometimes says: "If we cannot use it, we can sell it!"
  • When walking on a map of Gipath, the female companion sometimes says: "It is not like an expedition. It is more like a picnic."
  • When the companion in Suslanger has his arm broken by an enemy, I remember he says: "My arm!!!"
  • Some enemies have similar speeches, too. For example, the Brigand Chief and Chieftess in Gipath have them.
Although those speeches are not crucial, they help intensify the immersion and fun. The game would be less fun if players don't understand the meanings of those speeches.

They can be displayed below the Messages window for a few seconds. Or maybe adding a new tab to the Messages window for containing those speeches and limiting the amount of previous speeches to 30 so that it won't cause memory issues.

Hey, thanks for the extensive list! The only thing I can do is replace things, though. No adding tabs to the message window or anything like that.

So my idea would be to replace those voice files with english counterparts. Problem with that is, I don't know of a voice actor who'd be willing to do it.

Somehow the nocd crack isn't working for me and I'm still being asked to insert disk 2 to play. That probably is the cause that the first movie I'm seeing still has no English subtitles.

I got the nocd working by doing the following things:
  1. Copy the speech.res file from disk 2's Res folder and paste it into my game installation location's Res folder
  2. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Nival Interactive\EvilIslands Add-on\Path Settings in Registry Editor and change the value of CD-ROM Path to my game installation location

Attention! This post contains spoilers.


Here is a todo list of issues which need to be addressed in the unofficial English version:

1

In Suslanger stores, there are these potions:
  • Strength potion - very small vial
  • Haste potion - very small vial
However, the first one is actually a Haste potion and the second one a Silence potion. It seems that their name and descriptions are being assigned with other potions' text accidentally.


2

This move clip is missing or is not being played. It should be played when the characters are teleporting to Gipath.


3

The version text of the translation patch needs to be updated from 0.0.7 to a newer number.
